10-29-10 Today Amy Meizel came in to continue her treatment sessions. She was in for the first time 4 days ago, 10-25-10. She has Fibromyalgia, neck and shoulder pain, very limited range of motion. After initial session Monday, she had very nice improvement in range of motion of neck but still a lot of pain. In fact her pain was greater for a few minutes in her neck. Whenever we see that pain increases during a treatment session in an inflamed area it is a good sign that the cells are being stimulated, ie there is something positive, or cellular homeostasis occurring. I informed her of that and exactly as we have seen before it only lasted a short while and that increased pain level returned to her normal pain level. Again, while her pain level was still there her range of motion in neck was much better. Then gradually that area improved and she had very little pain at all within 48 hrs. Today she felt further increase in motion and less pain after todays session. We see pain relief in 85-90% of clients, we just never can predict how fast they will see it. With Amy it took 48 hrs, some see it immediately and most take 2-4 sessions to see it but it does work for most.
